Who is ByteString Games Studio?
We are a small independent game studio and the game development arm of JC Hills, LLC, based in Mendon, Illinois. We design and build original games for the browser, Android, iOS, and Windows. You can read more about the studio here.
Are your games free to play?
Yes. Our games are free to play. Some titles include optional in-app purchases and ads, and where we offer ads there is typically a one-time option to remove them. You can enjoy the full experience of our games without spending anything.
What platforms do you support?
A selection of our titles play right here in your browser with no download. Our mobile games are on Android via Google Play, with iOS to follow, and we have larger Windows titles on our roadmap. One game, many screens is the goal.
How do I play a game in my browser?
Just visit our Games section and click a title marked as playable. It loads right in the page, with nothing to install and no account required. Jetpack Jaydo: Virus Invasion is playable now.
Where can I get Ocean Burst and Runic Cascade?
Both games are now live and free on Google Play. Get Ocean Burst: Deep Sea Match and Runic Cascade on Google Play. An Apple App Store release is planned to follow. You can also browse all our games on Google Play.
Do I need an account to play?
No account is needed to play our browser games. Our mobile games may offer an optional sign-in so your progress can follow you across devices, but signing in is your choice.
How do ads and privacy work?
Where our games or this site show ads, they are served through standard advertising partners. We take your privacy seriously and only handle data as described in our policies. See our studio privacy policy, and each game also has its own policy, such as the Ocean Burst privacy policy.
How do I delete my data?
Each of our game privacy policies explains what data the game handles and how to request that it be deleted. For Ocean Burst, see the Ocean Burst privacy policy, which includes instructions for deleting your user data. You can also email us and we will help.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
Please email us at contact@bytestringgamesstudio.com with the game name and what happened. Bug reports from players genuinely help us make the games better.
